Rabbi, Admiral Aaron Landis ... A man of such stealth, wisdom, courage,a teacher, confidant, I could go on for miles. I know you are missed by thousands , but personally knowing you my whole life I can honestly say I miss you so much that it breaks my heart. Thank you for always being there when I needed someone to talk to or help me learn my Torah portion & allowing me to be the first female to read the Torah before I was even close to having my Bat -Mitzvah . You were a star in my eyes when I was 4 yrs. old & you will continue to be a star in my eyes when I look up @ the sky @ night. I pray you're in heaven continuing what you always did here on earth, being a scholar . All my love, hugs, kisses & misses.

I am so sad to just now become aware of his passing. I have fond loving memories of hanging lanterns in his Sukkah, playing in the treehouse as a child living next door and big hugs later at Annette's wedding. Love to Sora, Rena, Rebecca, Joshua and Tamar--Evelyn

So sorry to hear of the passing of Rabbi Landes. He was a true spiritual leader and a kind man who had a tremendous imprint on his Congregation, the overall Jewish community and the U.S. Navy. Over the course of my family's almost 30 year affiliation with Beth Sholom, he was a spiritual leader who always had time "for a hug" and kind words for our children as they grew up within the Congregation. He also had considerable impact on the Navy, serving as an advocate for the establishment of Jewish worship facilities at several Naval installations including the Naval Academy. I will always remember the conversations and his interesting insights and analysis on important issues as we rode the train to Washington on several occasions to support our Navy business activities. He will be missed!

So sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. This is probably one of the most difficult things we face in life. May it be of some comfort to you to know you're not alone and others are there to support you. Most of all never forget that we can always seek God to help us through trials -Prov 17:17;Ps 62:8

One could never say enough about Rabbi Landes and the Landes family. He was tall in stature and a giant among men. He will be missed by so many people whose lives and families he touched. May you all be comforted by your own memories and by all of the thoughts of all who loved him.
