Alfred Lamar Jones

Mr. Alfred Lamar Jones, age 96, of Tallapoosa, Ga. formerly of Tucker Ga. passed away on Friday February 11, 2022. He was born on December 2, 1925 in Hull, Ga to the late Jessie Howard and Ophelia Mae Jones.

“Big Al Jones” as he was known to by his family and friends. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 48 years Betty Hester Jones.

He was retired from the Southern Railways and was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in WW II, in the Pacific Theater.

He is survived by his sons Brett & Robin Jones of Tallapoosa, Gary and Lola Jones of Tucker, Ga. and his daughter Gail Jones of Tucker, Ga. His Grand Children Johnathon & Jenna Ocker of Tallapoosa, Ga., Erin and Stan Jordan of Powder Springs, Ga. and Jennifer Sinclair of Palatka, Fl., his Great Grand Children Brenley & Bentley Ocker, Johnathan Jordan, Lake Sinclair and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday February 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Funeral home in Tucker Georgia.

The family would like to thank the Kelly Foundation of Buchanan Georgia and their staff for the loving care that they gave making his final days peaceful.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Dementia /Alzheimer’s foundation in memory of “Big Al Jones” or to the Tallapoosa Veterans Association.
