I just found out about Ricky's passing and am very sad. A great friend in elementary and high school and in later life. Great person who loved his family. Will be greatly missed. Tommy Kendrick

Ricky was a good man and friend. Kind and caring. Always teasing and laughing with the kids. Known even to my daughters as Uncle Ricky. I will always remember all the great times at the Rice's. May God give you comfort and peace.

Ricky was a couple of years older than I was when we were growing up on that mystic and magical place known as Milam Circle.  Our age difference was just enough to inspire a little awe and confer on him a certain degree of status, but Ricky was trail-blazer who had a style all his own.  In an era when the most popular shows on television were westerns, he somehow convinced Sally and Walter to let him keep a horse in the front yard.  When he was just out of high school, he saved up enough money to buy a blue Chevy Corvette Sting Ray – a used one, of course, that left a trail of oil and transmission fluid wherever it went, but like Ricky, “very cool.”  And when he was only a year or two into college, he got married.  You couldn't help but admire Ricky.  Once he decided what he wanted, he made it happen.  That was his gift.  He made others believe there wasn't anything you couldn't do if you put your mind to it.  With Deepest Sympathy to all the Rice family.

I remember our serving some surprising hot dogs at Adams and Avondale stadiums, our scaring the doves and locals while firing shotguns as we tramped around Sam's Crossing, and after years without contact, having an enormous Georgia Power truck pull up alongside at a stoplight and rev its engine, on looking up, there was Ricky, high above in the driver's seat, challenging me to race.

So many fond memories from grammar thru high school.  I am so saddened to learn of Ricky's passing.

Marshall and all the Rice's, I'm very sad to hear we lost one of my favorite gentleman in this world.  Ricky was a very wise, kind and gentle person.  He always had time to help out a neighbor or friend.  Life may change, but we will always have our fond memories of Ricky.

Ricky was one of our favorites in the Rice family. Our love and sincere sympathy to all of you. Jim, Kaky, Mary Anne, Marty and Susan.

We go though life taking for granted that  things just flow along and then someone in our stream of life passes away and we reflect on how they affected our lives!
