

Annell Kathleen Lewis, age 96 formerly of Decatur, Georgia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family. She was a native Atlantan,and loving wife of 68 years to the late James R. Lewis. She was the devoted mother of four, grandmother to eight grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.
Ann grew up attending Atlanta Girls High where she rode the Girl's High Special Streetcar to school. She attended the last graduating class of 1947. She went on to graduate in 1950 from Crawford Long Hospital as an X-ray technician and then trained at Emory University Hospital as a lab technician. She began her medical career in the downtown Atlanta Doctors Building and when not staying home with her children she worked in numerous family practices around Atlanta. She attended in the past and sang in the choir/worked in Sunday school at Forest Hills Baptist, Peoples Baptist, and most recently Valley Brook Baptist. She loved the Lord, reading her Bible and many devotionals. Her favorite travels with family were to the beach and the mountains.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Joan Faulk (Greg), Patty Johnson (Robert), Lynn Mehollin and son, William Lewis (Debra). Grandchildren, Kayla Carson (Jake), Robert Johnson (Caroline), Andrew Johnson (Samantha), Jessica Lewis, Austin Lewis (Jordann), Rebecca Sabo (Jonathan), Jenny Johnson (Jermaine), and Ben Spivey.
Ann is proceeded in death by the love of her life James R. Lewis, her sister Helen Lester, and and her parents Virginia Strickland Jenkins and Lucius Austin Jenkins.
The family held a Celebration of Annell's life at Floral Hills Memory Gardens on November 15th, 2025. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
