April Michelle Watson

On Tuesday, August 13, April Michelle Watson, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and true Georgia Bulldog fan, passed away at the age of 39. April was born on May 26, 1980 in Burlington, North Carolina. April was incredibly intelligent and had a zeal for learning. She earned decorated degrees, a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta and a master’s degree from University of Warwick in Coventry, England. Our nation benefited from her education and desire for the betterment of our world as she worked for the National Security Administration where she earned several honors and medals.

April had a big heart and a continuous desire to help others. She saw the best in everyone. Her laugh was infectious, and it often tickled so many spots inside of her that she couldn’t remain standing. April held education in the highest esteem. She continually read, engaged in politics, and strived to bring positive change. April was an aficionado on Jimmy Carter, “the best ex-president we’ve ever had,” and collected autographed copies of his books. She loved the color pink, traveling through Europe (especially London), and spoiling her “baby” brother and nephew.

April is survived by her mother and stepfather, Linda and Larry Feld, her father and stepmother, Ron and Cynthia Watson, her sister, brother-in-law and nephew, Amy, Jason, and Luke Blehm, and her brother, Beau Watson. She is also survived by her significant other, Simon Woodson. She is preceded in death by her brother, Samuel Watson.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate April’s life on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Floral Hill Funeral Home in Tucker, Georgia at 2:00 PM. A reception will follow.

If you really want to honor April and what mattered most to her, donate money in her name to the Democratic National Party with a note that she is doing her very final part to get Donald Trump “the hell out of office!” —-said in jest. Yet those of you who *really* know her also know this would make her full of pride and smiles.
