Barbara L. Emerson

December 24, 1932 – December 12, 2013

Of Atlanta passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at the age of 80. She was born on December 24, 1932 in Dansville, NY, the daughter of Louis and Betty Lehrer. Preceded in death by her son John T. Emerson. Loving mother of Catherine (Jay) Quabius, Mary Sue Emerson, Michele Emerson (Derek Dodd), David (Sandy) Emerson, Paul (Leah) Emerson, and Karen (Roy) Estell. Proud grandmother of Cynthia (Michael), Melissa (Josh), Rebecca, Jared, Jacob, Austin and Marshall and great-grandmother of Laura, Carson, Zander and Ainsley. Dear sister of Nancy Lehrer. She is further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

A parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church since 1965, Barbara was devoted to her faith. She, loved music, books and laughter. Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She was a joyful woman with a positive outlook. She will be forever loved and deeply missed.

The family extends special thanks to the caring individuals of Family Private Care and Hospice Atlanta Center for their unwavering compassion and commitment.

Visitation Monday, Dec. 16th, at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Catholic Church in Barbara's honor.
