Elaine was born on May 14, 1948, in Brownsville, TN to parents Henry Bray and Mary Katherine Williams. She graduated from Clarkston High School in Clarkston, GA. In 1968, she moved to Daytona Beach, FL and accepted a position at the Daytona Beach News Journal, where she worked for more than 25 years.
Elaine had a wonderful retirement. She retired at an early age and traveled the globe with her parents. She especially enjoyed all the road trips with girlfriends. She loved to play cards, games and puzzles. She had a keen mind and a caring heart and found joy in the small things.
She found lasting friendships and their families became hers. She was known as Auntie Elaine to their children and grandchildren as she had none of her own. Her life was rich with much love and many highlights, and she was always grateful. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving and wonderful person.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Thomas Bray, her mother, Mary Katherine Williams, her brother, James Franklin Bray, and her sister-in-law, Carol Bray.
