She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ben R “Pete” Wallace, sisters Joanne Strange Daniel and Dorothy Strange Nelson, and brother, Michael Strange. She leaves behind her daughter Cyndee Wallace; her granddaughter, Tyler Domansky, her grandson, Tate Domansky and his fiancé, Alexandra Sexton.
Blanche was born May 11, 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Clarence H Strange and the late Gladys C Glawson Strange, and she lived her entire life in the Atlanta area. In 1971, she and Pete founded Pete Wallace Rigging & Machinery Moving, a business that has served hundreds of local industries, meeting their heavy machinery moving needs still today - a testament to their reputation, tenacity and hard work over the years. In her free time, Blanche enjoyed reading, sewing and needlework. She made many beautiful afghans and hardanger pieces that she lovingly and generously shared with her family and friends. She was passionate about her health and walked many miles with her neighbors. She and Pete were regulars at their small cell group from Tucker Christian Church, The Encouragers, which met on Sunday evenings. She also derived much pleasure from outings with her Red Hat Club ladies, and gentlemen, as spouses were also welcome. On the weekends, she could be found camping with her husband and their Good Sam Club friends or enjoying time at their Blairsville, Georgia cabin.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3000 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, Georgia. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Second Wind Dreams.
