Carmen Belen Logan

Carmen Belen Logan, our beloved Ama, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, advocate, and friend, passed away peacefully in the early morning of August 14, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, Carmen lived a life defined by love, service, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to justice. She described herself as a “wonderful Ama and amazing mom to my children and grandchildren,” and no one who knew her—especially her children and grandchildren—would disagree.

Carmen proudly served in the United States Army and became one of the first bilingual Spanish-speaking social workers in Pennsylvania. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to supporting hundreds of people in various ways. She helped immigrant farmworkers throughout the state, offered translation services for non-English speakers, helped people find healthcare, understand their taxes, fought for fair wages and housing for the underprivileged, and offered care, advocacy, and hope to hundreds of people. Her deep empathy and fierce determination meant she would do anything for someone in need.

She also fulfilled meaningful dreams of her own, including earning her master’s in social work from Lincoln University and owning a beautiful home in Georgia. Yet her greatest joy was always her family, whom she loved beyond measure.

Carmen is survived by her loving husband, Daniel; her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Her legacy of love, strength, generosity, and service will live on in every life she touched. Carmen will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
