Indiana, passed away on July the Twenty-Seventh of 2025. She was
married to John Seffrin for 59 happy years. Carole is survived by John, her
daughter Mary, and her grandson John Robert. She is also survived by
many wonderful friends whom she loved dearly. In her roles as wife,
mother, grandmother, and friend, Carole loved each of these
wholeheartedly.
Carole graduated from Ball State University in 1966 with a BS in Education,
and later earned a Master’s degree and an EdS from Indiana University.
Her love of education and passion for learning are reflected in her robust
teaching career and educational leadership that touched the lives of
countless students and professional colleagues in Indiana.
When Carole moved to Atlanta, she transitioned into a most dedicated
volunteer role alongside John with the American Cancer Society. Her
advocacy for Cancer was global; and she herself survived breast cancer
accrediting early detection as the key to her battle.
Carole is known by friends and family as a woman of tremendously strong
faith. She was a devout Catholic who exemplified the golden rule. She had
a unique way of making people feel appreciated - whether it be at the Waffle
House or the White House.
For fun times with family, Carole enjoyed Broadway plays, world travel,
and fine dining. And on occasion, she appreciated a good martini - her
favorite part was the toast…she always toasted others.
There is no doubt that Carole is in a better place today. She will be deeply
missed and loved forever.
Services for Carole will be held at Christ the King Cathedral on Tuesday,
August the fifth at ten O’Clock AM.
A livestream of the Mass can be viewed at Livestreams and Broadcasts -
