

Carolyn “Janice” Sexton, 74, of Tucker, GA passed away July 16, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Della Mae Sexton, her beloved brother Randall Sexton and beloved nephew Jeffery Sexton. Janice graduated from Bellwood School in Calhoun, GA where she excelled in sports having pitched a perfect game in softball. She went on to College to become a Medical Technologist and was a member of the Georgia Society for Medical Technology. After 30 years in the medical field, Janice developed and ran a successful residential cleaning business until her retirement in 2001. She was a devoted friend, sister, aunt and cousin who loved her many friends and family members, her pets, and the Georgia Bulldogs. Janice loved to travel-and among her many trips, the trips to Paris, France and Ireland were among her favorite. She is survived by her friend and companion of 24 years Ruth Callahan; brother Rex (Shirley) Sexton, niece Lisa Hearn (Greg), nephews John Sexton and David Sexton (Jill); the Herb Neal family; several cousins and several grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her extended families: Will, Janet, and Waylan Callaway; Angelica, Jose’, Isaac and Melissa Ramos Sanchez; and the Callahan family: Tom and Janet Callahan, Terry and Judy Callahan, Tim Callahan, Stan and Vicki Callahan, Paul and Anne Callahan, and Eileen and Jerry Smath and many Callahan/Smath nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Jan’s Life will take place on Saturday, September 28th at 11:00 AM at the home of Janice and Ruth in Tucker, GA.
Janice’s favorite charities were: St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
