Cyril John Charles passed away on October 22, 2019 at the age of 83. Cyril Charles was born in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He grew up and lived in Karnal, Haryana for many years and played Hockey and Soccer. Later, he returned to Ludhiana and worked at the Christian Medical College and Hospital in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine and Community Health as an Executive Medical Assistant for many years. He came to the US with his family, and worked at Foote and Davies Company in Doraville Georgia.
He loved his savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and he loved the Word of God. He always had a special time of prayer and meditation before eating his breakfast. He read his Bible every day, and had read it three times cover to cover. He loved to share Jesus with his non-Christian Indian friends. Cyril was also commissioned as a missionary along with his wife, Norma, by the North American Mission Board in Atlanta. He helped and supported his wife, a Georgia Baptist missionary, in her church planting work among Asian Indians in Georgia since 1982. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Atlanta.
Cyril Charles lived a simple and happy life with his family and friends. He enjoyed listening to Urdu ghazals by prominent Indian and Pakistani singers. He also had a passion for cooking and fixing things around the house. He was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrates the fact that he is at peace with his creator
Cyril was preceded in death by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Hamilton Charles, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his be-loved wife of 56 years, Norma Charles, daughters, Mallini and Shallini (Praveen); grandchildren Abhinav and Emily, as well as nieces and nephews in India.
Viewing and visitation for Cyril will be held at the Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, Georgia on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m followed by a Funeral service at the Funeral Home Chapel from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Immediately following the service, the Burial will take place at the cemetery, located next to the Funeral Home at 3000 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA. Those who wish to join the family for burial are welcome to do so. Thank you.
