She was born in Comanche, OK the daughter of the late Edmond Osborne and Ruth Pannell Franklin.
She was a former Librarian for the DeKalb County Schools.
Mrs. Sylvester was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Sylvester of Atlanta; her daughters, Connie Judge of Lilburn and Rita Baker of Acworth; her stepdaughter, Sharon Stegg of Chamblee; her stepson, Jeffery Sylvester of Dallas; her 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Briarlake Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tues. at the church from 12 noon until service time.
