She was born in Edgefield, SC the daughter of the late Donald and Louise Lyon Smith.
Mrs. McClure was a retired elementary school teacher for DeKalb County Schools.
She was a member of Briarlake Baptist church where she was a member of the Agape Bible Class.
Her husband Lt. William Jon McClure, Sr., predeceased her December 19, 2015.
Survivors include her children, Alison (Don) Dixon of Tucker, William Jon "Bill" (Mary) McClure, Jr. of Rome, Kelly (Doug) Karr of Marietta, and Dana (Ron) Moon of Tucker; her grandchildren, Nate McClure, Morgan Cantrell, Cpl.Trey Cantrell, Max McClure, Logan Karr, and Riley Karr .
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 2 at 2:00 pm at Briarlake Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Agape Bible Class c/o Briarlake Baptist Church, Decatur.
