Dorothy T. Gordon

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Tucker Gordon of Decatur, GA, passed away Saturday January 22, 2022 just 25 days shy of her 99th birthday. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother of 5, great-grandmother of 7, aunt to a host of nieces and nephews and a friend. She worked at Rich’s Department Store downtown and was later promoted to the Rich’s Service Center Supervisor. Dot was a wonderful cook and loved preparing delicious meals for her family and friends for the holidays and many celebrations. Throughout her life, Dot was a devout Christian and faithful congregant. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur for 56 years where she served as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon, as well as a member of “Young at Heart”. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Henry Walker Gordon and her parents Charles and Nezzie Tucker. Dot is survived by her two daughters Sandy (Charlie) Gay and Bonnie (Richard) Fewell. Visitation will be held Monday January 31, 2022 at 12:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy., Tucker, GA 30084.
