Elizabeth Ann Toole was born in Atlanta Georgia on September 27, 1935. Elizabeth went to be with the Lord October 16, 2013. She was the youngest of three. Elizabeth grew up in Brookhaven and went to Chamblee High School where she lettered in basketball. She was 5’8 1/2” tall. Elizabeth married Thomas (Cotton) Richard Manning in 1952. They had a daughter, Connie Elizabeth Manning. Elizabeth and Cotton divorced in 1960.
Elizabeth married James L. Toole Jr. in 1963 and had 4 children. The first was a still born baby girl born in 1964. James Matthew Toole was born in 1966, Melissa Ann Toole was born in 1967 and Michael Anthony Toole was born in 1971. Jim Toole adopted Connie the day Matthew was born and she became Connie Elizabeth Toole. Elizabeth and Jim divorced after 18 years of marriage in 1981.
Elizabeth attended Massey Business College. She had a great business mind. She worked at Trust Company Bank in Brookhaven, Safe Co Insurance, Atlanta Fixture, Shearith Israel Atlanta and Jenny Craig. She was also a homemaker for 15 years. She loved to cook and bake sweets especially at holiday time. Homemade fudge was one of her favorites.
Elizabeth was an excellent bowler. She received many bowling trophies and actually met Jim Toole while they were bowling. She carried a high 180’s average at the peak of her career.
She was a member of N.E. Baptist Church and First Baptist of Atlanta. She loved God and made sure her children grew up in a Christian household.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Claribel Crider, her father, Fred Calvin Crider, her sister, Mattie Hazel Cruse, and her brother Calvin H. (Buddy) Crider.
She is survived by her four living children, Connie Elizabeth Muntner, James Matthew Toole, Melissa Ann Toole and Michael Anthony Toole.
Elizabeth has 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
