Garnett was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on August 22, 1941. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She enjoyed a lifetime of helping others and caring for loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Etha Garnett Overcash, husband Joe Halstead, brother Ed Overcash Jr and son Joey Halstead.
Survivors include son Doug Halstead (Mandy) of Marietta, son Steve Halstead of Loganville and Jenny Swindle, adopted daughter of love, of Loganville.
Grandchildren: Logan Halstead, Josh Halstead, Avery Croker, Nina Halstead, Dustin Halstead, Brittany Patterson (Zach), Madison Dyer (Adam).
Great Grandchildren: Layla Halstead, Wyatt Patterson, Mazie Patterson, Waylon Dyer, Bodie Dyer, Jackson Dyer.
