Gayle, wife of her loving husband Edwin (of 36 years), entered the gates of heaven and joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in eternal life.
She is the daughter of Hayward (Bill) and Elizabeth Wilson, and the youngest of 7 siblings who loved her dearly. Gayle spent her short years and beautiful life in the service of God, her family, her church, her friends, and people everywhere. She impacted lives with a kind heart, happy attitude, wisdom, and a calming spirit.
Born July 3rd,1969, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Gayle grew up and spent her early years attending Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn. Soon after, she married her soul-mate & started her journey as a military wife, and her dream of raising a family came to fruition.
Christ remains the Anchor of those left behind—her husband: Edwin; children: EJ, Johnathan, and Elijah; grandchild: Chase; Siblings: Eric Boone (deceased); Gina Gopie, Alison Garrett, Joyce Boone, Edward Hedgepeth; Mia Releford (and husband Keith); a host of loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a precious group of cousins. The Lord has called her home, and we are confident that she will be joyfully greeted by the spirit of her Father (Hayward Wilson), mother (Elizabeth Wilson), her brother (Eric Boone), and a host of friends & family.
Gayle (affectionately known as “Moon”) loved going to concerts, reading, going out to dinner, most of all watching Judge Judy.
In spite of her health struggles throughout her life, she never complained, maintained a positive outlook on life, and always encouraged others. After a life well-lived, Gayle’s loss of life to us was sudden, and unexpected, but we were all blessed by being a part of her journey.
Gayle’s loving husband, the family she adored, and many close friends were there for them through this incredibly difficult time, providing support, attention, and love.
When we think of her, it is not how she passed but, rather how she lived! She lived a life of trust, that the Lord will see her through.
She always spoke her truth, while being mindful of the feelings of others. She had a calming spirit, and she always made sure her family was top priority in her life.
Gayle will be missed all that she touched, a host of family & friends, that is a certainty… But her spirit lives on!!!!
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV)
