

She was born September 17, 1929 in New Richmond, West Virginia, the second of 8 children born to the late William H. Blankenship and Ennis Halsey Blankenship.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lila, her brother Jack Blankenship, sisters Fern Blankenship Thorn and Dreama Blankenship Taylor.
She is survived by her husband of almost 69 years, Abdallah Edward Najjar; her sons, Alan (Donna) of Buford, GA, Omar (Kim), of Stone Mountain GA, and Mark (Laura) of Cumming, GA; five grandchildren, Jessica Kubat (Jamie) of Birmingham, AL, Jeffrey Najjar of Miami, FL, Patrick Najjar of Athens, GA, Joseph Najjar (Jade) of Fayetteville, AR, and Claire Najjar of Athens GA; a sister, Rita Edens of Pineville, WV; Brothers; William H. Blankenship, Jr. (Betty) of Lester, WV, Terry Blankenship (Carol) of Warren, OH), and Mack Blankenship (Phyllis) of Newport, TN.
Gerri had an incredible spirit and wit, and she touched countless people throughout her life’s journey.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 10:30 - 11 a.m., Floral Hills Funeral Home Chapel, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084, where a Memorial service to celebrate her life will begin at 11 a.m.
