He was born in Woburn, Illinois the son of the late Ora Michael and Margarite Diamond Davis.
He was a Marine Corps veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur.
Mr. Davis was a sales representative in the Audio Visual industry.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Davis of Decatur, his daughters, Melanie Swicegood of Sandy Springs and Deborah Tooley of Searcy, AR; his son, Charles Gilbert Davis of Tuscaloosa, AL; his sister, Mildred Dust of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Decatur.
