Gracie Lee Dallas, also known as Gracie Dallas, of Decatur, Georgia, passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 72. Gracie was born on May 28, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Mary Ella Smith and Willie B. Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill Smith, grandmother Ma Ma, daughter Monica Dallas, and husband Chucky Dallas Sr.
Gracie was a vibrant and loving individual who touched the lives of many. She worked as a CNA at a Nursing home on Moreland Avenue, and at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, after graduating from Murphy High School and attending Medical School for CNA. She was a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Grayson, Georgia, where she found solace and community.
In her free time, Gracie enjoyed gardening, shopping, cooking, planting, traveling, knitting, sewing, going out to eat, and spending time with friends and her spiritual community serving in the fields. She had a particular love for cats and cherished the time she spent with her spiritual brothers and sisters.
Gracie is survived by her three sons, Enrique, Chucky, and Bobby (Sarita), 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Peggy Dallas, brother-in-law David Dallas, special daughter-in-law Stephanie Dallas, special daughters Roberta Cornwell, LaQuisha (Kesha) Carter, special son-in-law Reginald Taylor, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Memorial Service in honor of Gracie will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1:00 pm. All cards, flowers, donations, and gifts can be sent to Floral Hills Funeral Home, Cremation Services & Memory Gardens in Tucker, Georgia. Contributions in memory of Gracie can also be made to Floral Hills.
