He is survived by his daughters and son in laws, Cynthia Diane and Fred Howell of Stone Mountain, Georgia; Valerie Lynn and Michael Olson of Buford, Georgia; Pamela Joan and Rodney Humphries of Maryville, Tennessee; Jacquelyn Marie and William Glenn of Baltimore, Maryland; and son Philip Anthony and Kim Steward of Dallas, Georgia; 8 Grandchildren: Melissa King, Amanda Newman, Daphne Ewing, Jessica Howell, Jennifer Wheelus, Trea Glenn, Aiyana Glenn, and Derek Steward; 6 Great Grandchildren: Shane and Sara Turner, Mason and Logan Newman, Elizabeth and John Mason Wheelus.
Funeral services will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens Chapel located on Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, Georgia, on Saturday, December 5th, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Visitation is between 1 and 2 pm Saturday. Graveside service to follow.
Friday December 4th, 2020 Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 9 pm. Mask are required at Visitation and funeral services.
Jack was born on June 2, 1932, in Newton County. He attended Bass High School where he met the love of his life, Joan. He served in the Army in the Korean War from August 1950 to June 1952. He married Joan on November 26, 1952. They were married 53 years before she passed away in December 2005.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling out west, going to Pow Wow’s, and working at Stone Mountain Park doing the school programs teaching the children about the Cherokee Indians.
He loved spending time with his family, Pow Wow family, and Stone Mountain family.
