

Jan was born on June 8th, 1947, in Athens, Georgia. Her parents were John and Melba Robinson of Carrollton, Georgia. Jan graduated from Carrollton High School. She excelled academically and received her undergraduate degree from West Georgia College. Jan was always proud to have been a member of the first Nursing School graduating class from West Georgia College. She worked in the nursing field for the majority of her career specializing in the operating room and intensive care units.
Jan balanced her time between writing poetry, researching genealogy, watching old movies, and spending time with her family. Her dedication to family and friends often found her finishing new creative writings in the early hours of the morning leaving time for other family projects such as being an expert gingerbread cookie maker.
Jan will be loved and missed by surviving sisters, Martha Anne Ansari and Susan Robinson; sons, Joe, John, and Ben Bell; Cousins Jerry Robinson, Mary Alice Robinson, Jimmy Morgan, and Pam DeMatteis. Grandchildren Taylor Bell, Jack Bell, Sarah Bell, and Parker Bell. Jan is predeceased by her brother, James Robinson, and grandson Cooper Bell.
A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family request contributions be sent in her memory to: Douglasville Nursing and Rehab Center where Jan received exceptional care during the later stages of her life.
