Jerel Marvin Charles

It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Jerel Charles, who left this world peacefully on May 26, 2025, surrounded by family.

Jerel was born extremely prematurely, along with his twin brother Jared Marvin Charles, both weighing only one and a half pounds at birth. Though his journey on earth was marked by limitations and many challenges, his spirit was nothing short of inspiring. He taught us the true meaning of strength, patience, perseverance and unconditional love.

Despite the limitations he faced, Jerel lived a life full of joy, love and purpose. His bright smile could light up any room and his laughter brought warmth to all who knew him.

Jerel is deeply loved and missed by his parents, Angela Frazier and Marvin Charles, his twin brother Jared Charles, his aunt Jacqueline Dunnaway, and cousins Christopher Dunnaway, April Servin, Jade Dunnaway and Kristina Dunnaway. Jerel is also remembered with love by a wider circle of family and friends and those in the medical and caregiving communities who came to know and cherish him.

The family would like to thank immensely Jerel's caregiver Taisha Sharp and her family for their compassionate care and support for the last 10 years.

A celebration of life for Jerel will be held on June 6, 2025 at Floral Hills Funeral Home beginning at 12 noon. All who knew and loved Jerel are welcome to attend and share in remembering his beautiful life.

Although Jerel's time with us was too brief, he left an indelible mark on our hearts and lives. We will carry his memory with us always and love him forever.
