Joan Mills

She is survived by Bill Mills, her husband of 66 years and her children Mary Veal of Snellville, GA and Eddie Mills (Julia Mills) of Murphy, NC.

Joan was born on May 30, 1935 in Atlanta, Ga to parents Arbie and Pluma Stansell. She graduated from Bass High School in 1953 and went on to become an executive secretary for the next 10 years. After the birth of her children she became a full-time mom and enjoyed attending her kids team sports and after school activities. She later went back to work for the Dekalb County School System for 25 years as a bus driver for special needs students-a job she thoroughly enjoyed.

Joan was a social and active member of Faith Community Church in Grayson, GA. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, sewing, cooking, baking and UGA football games with her family.

Joan will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and loyal friend.
