John William Blakeslee ,age 83, died October 17,2025 in Tucker, Ga. Born January 27, 1942 in Takoma, Washington, he was the son of the late Belle Blakleslee Moses and John W. Blakeslee,Sr. John is survived by his children Layne McLendon (Lee) of Mollena, Georgia and Greg Blakeslee of Cumming, Georgia. He is survived by granddaughters Bright Williamson and Belle Williamson and sister Shirley Anne Blakeslee Stegemann (Bertold) of Germany. His brother Bryant predeceased in early 2025. He is also survived by his niece Caroline and nephew Bryant Jr.
John graduated from Edmunds High School class of 1961. As part of a military family he in his youth lived in Germany, Panama, and finally Sumter, SC. As an adult he lived primarily in Atlanta, Ga. He enjoyed camping, motorcycles, old movies, family and his 2 loyal companion dogs.
He passed away after a long illness that he faced with remarkable strength. His passing brings relief from the pain he had endured and comfort to those who loved him knowing he is at peace.
He was cremated, and according to his wishes, there will be no official service. His family will remember him privately and hold his memory close in the stories and moments they shared together.
