He was born in Atlanta, the son of the late Joseph William Barge and Louise Smith Barge.
He was a founding member of a local band known as The Restraints.
Survivors include his mother, Louise Barge of Tucker; his sister, Joy Barge of Tucker; his nephews, Nigel Kirkland and Cain Maxwell.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at 3 pm in the chapel of Floral Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
