Leslie Jones Kretzschmar, 51, of Tucker, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Hospice Atlanta after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 06, 1967 in Opelika, Alabama, the daughter of Robert E. Jones and Gail Hannah Jones.
Leslie graduated from Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia and North Georgia College with a degree in Business Administration. Leslie joined the Army in 1988 and served during the Gulf War. She received an Honorable Discharge as SPC/PFC in 1992 having received a number of commendations and medals.
After discharge from the Army, she started work in banking. She held many different positions within the bank, with the last position as Vice President/Business Banker for SunTrust Bank in Atlanta, Georgia. She was with SunTrust for fifteen plus years.
She married Scott Kretzschmar on October 13, 2007 and lived eleven years of wonderful happiness. She is survived by her husband, Scott Kretzschmar of Tucker; her father, Robert E. Jones, III; her mother, Gail Hannah Jones, both of Anderson, South Carolina; her brother, Robert E. Jones IV “Robbie” (Leslie) of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a niece, Aviana Caroline Jones, two nephews, William Paul Kretzschmar and Emlen Charles Carr. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; Robert E. and Dorothy Jones; Charnel and Lela Hannah and her father in-law Paul Kretzschmar.
Leslie loved her friends and family, who surrounded her until her final day. She was full of joy, fun and laughter that filled a room with her presence.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for August 25, 2008 at 11:00 with a visitation/reception to follow from 12:00 to 2:00 at Floral Hills Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, Georgia 30084.
