He was born in Dyersburg, TN the son of the late Robert Ernest and Christine Mitchell McClure.
Mr. McClure was a Certified Internal Auditor for Haverty's Furniture Company.
He was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church and the Certified Internal Auditors Association.
An Army veteran and a Master Marksman.
Survivors include his wife of 58 yrs. Dixie Smith McClure of Tucker; his daughters, Alison (Don) Dixon of Tucker,
Kelly (Douglas) Karr of Marietta, and Dana (Ron) Moon of Tucker; his son, William Jon (Mary) McClure, Jr. of Rome; his sister, Gloria Bignault of Jasper; his brother, Robert E. McClure, Jr. of Athens; his grandchildren, Morgan Cantrell, Nate McClure, Cpl. Trey Cantrell, Max McClure, Logan Karr, and Riley Karr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 2:00 pm at Briarlake Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Briarlake Baptist Church Global Missions.
