Lucy Fox Hughes

She was preceded in death by her mother & father; Pearl Peek Fox & Leeman Alexander Fox; her siblings Clifford Fox, RL Fox, Olan Fox, Joyce Styles, & Ansle Fox; her infant son, Roger Dale Woodall; her husband- John Pearson Hughes, & her son Dewane Frizzell.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by her granddaughter, Dena Finn & husband James Finn; Grandson Christopher Frizzell & wife Ashley Frizzell; Grandson Bryan Frizzell & wife Jennifer Frizzell; & Grandson Adam Frizzell; her wonderful great grandchildren, Thomas Finn, Emma Finn, Ava Frizzell, Zoe Frizzell, Ora Frizzell, Matthew White, Casey Frizzell, Bryson Frizzell, & Nathan Frizzell. Her sisters-in- law Peggy Fox, Betty McFall, Judy Fox, many beloved nieces & nephews & other extended family.

Mrs. Hughes was born December 17, 1933 in Ellijay, North Carolina. She moved to Metro Atlanta in 1962, where she raised her son, then began her career at Western Electric. She was proud to retire after 23 years of exemplary employment in the early 1990's.

Her & John traveled to many exciting destinations. The family still enjoys numerous cherished photos of their adventures together. She was extremely down to earth, but her preparation & enthusiasm for hosting an enjoyable dinner party was quite notable, & she certainly looked forward to proper formal functions like weddings, graduations, & such.

She had an incredible memory, was extremely intelligent, & adaptively resourceful. She always showed complete dedication to, & continuous concern for her family, who she truly adored spending her time with & sacrificed greatly for. She was described by many as a very “sweet lady”.

She was a dignified strong woman of faith that drew great peace from knowing with certainty that she would be in Heaven with her savior after her passing.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 2:00pm immediately followed by the funeral service at 3:00pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084. A graveside service & burial will follow the funeral at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3000 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA.
