This world will surely miss her! She was like a grandmother to so many of us, and the perfect example of what a southern lady should be! We love you Maggie Barrett! We are praying for all of you with a whole lot of love!

My sympathy and prayers are with the family. Maggie was a truly wonderful lady. I worked with her in the optometric office in Decatur, 1978-80. She was smart, funny, and loved people. As an amazing seamstress, she encouraged me to make a Paddington bear for my (then) little boy. My granddaugters now play with that bear, and I think of Maggie every time I see it. She loved her family and her church and was a blessing to all who met her.

Maggie will be dearly missed - she was a lovely lady and a treasure to know. She had a heart of gold and my family and I will always appreciate her kindness and love. My prayers, thoughts and love go out to Greer and her family. Please know that Maggie touched my heart and my life and helped me during a challenging time. She extended her friendship and love to my father - Jack Thaxton - and helped him to settle in to a new home and life. I will be forever grateful. I will miss her beautiful and loving smile, kind thoughts and words and genuine friendship.
