Maria del Carmen Lopez (Zapata) was born In the city of Ceiba Mocha, Provence of Matanzas Cuba on March 17, 1929 to Jose Magdaleno Lopez and Antonia Casilda Suarez. A woman of unimaginable faith and speaker of God's word was transplanted from her home country on September of 1966 and began a new life in Atlanta. One of her many outstanding characteristics was her ability to make something out of nothing and greet everyone with a plate of her delicious food. She was in a single word a warrior! A woman of great courage, glamorous, energetic, ingenious, crafty, with a great heart for helping others. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Maria; granddaughters, Carmen and Roxana; great grandsons, Adriel (9) and JonDaniel (8). We will all miss her dearly and will abide in our hearts and thoughts forever.
