Mark Howard Groover was born to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence William Groover on September 16, 1966 here in Atlanta, GA and was raised in Buckhead. He departed this life on January 14, 2011 after suffering diabetic related complications.
Mark was an avid lover of all sports, but loved football and baseball best. Mark was very active in them throughout his youth. He played park baseball at Bagley Park and was the quarterback of his high school football team at North Fulton High School in Buckhead, where he graduated with the Class of 1984.
As an adult, Mark made residences in Florida, Texas, Missouri, and Minnesota. But no matter what, Mark’s roots always brought him back to Atlanta. He was close to his family and spent his last years back here in Georgia.
Mark was preceeded in death by his father, Clarence William Groover. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Shirley Groover, Atlanta, GA; three siblings, Jeannie Groover, Lawrenceville, GA; Robert Groover, Cedartown, GA; Cindy Flores, Atlanta, GA, two daughters, Nicole Silverman, Atlanta, GA; and Brittany Groover, Minnesota, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
