Mark was fond of the outdoors, and you could often find him camping and fishing. He would tell stories about his life around a campfire, and he always had a story to tell for just about anything. He had the biggest heart, and many friends said that he would give you the shirt off his back to you if you needed it.
Mark never took anything for granted. He was a simple man, finding gratitude and joy in the small things. He wasn’t afraid of hard labor, earning everything he had through his strong work ethic and determination through the years. He was the proud owner of Taylors Landscaping and Maintenance, a business that he built from the ground up.
Mark was a recovering alcoholic and for the last two years of his sobriety, he took an active role in helping others recover as well. He transformed his spirituality, led AA meetings, and made late-night phone calls to those who needed his help. He passed away a sober man.
Family was so important to him, especially in the last two years. He became a loving father to his beloved daughter Amanda, a mentor to his son-in-law Rory, and welcomed his new grandson Jackson with joy. He was not only a father but a best friend.
Mark is survived by his wife, Deanna Brown Taylor of Greenville, SC; his children, Amanda Taylor O’Connor and her husband Rory O’Connor of Grovetown, GA, Spencer Ashby and his wife Lisa Ashby of Greenville, SC, and Sharon Christiansen and her husband Dan of Cumming, GA; his grandchildren, Jackson O’Connor, Zane Ashby, Gavin Ashby, Parker Christiansen, Mason Christiansen, and Sienna Christiansen; his sister, Donna Pellegata and her husband Dean Pellegata of Milford, MI; his nieces, Leah Ohmer and her husband Joe Ohmer of Milford, MI, and Lauren Giles-Peters and her husband Hamish of Westerly, RI; and many family and friends who loved him.
Mark is predeceased his parents, Wilbur Bristow and Grace Imogene Wooten Taylor; and his sister, Patty Taylor Jones.
