Marty was born on November 21st, 1956, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, to parents Arthur “Art” Seymour Dworkin and Zella Lee Bonner Dworkin. After graduating from high school, he proudly served as an Interior Communications Electrician in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1980, where he was stationed in Glasgow, Scotland. Upon returning from his service, Marty graduated with an Associate of Science Degree from Roane State Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communication & Video Production from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in 1984. In 1994, Marty moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and accepted a position as a Media Technician at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), where he proudly worked for more than 30 years, up until his death.
Marty was a devoted family man and a loving father. He married Rhonda Hutto on September 7th, 2003, and the couple had 2 children together, Leanna and Sam. Marty’s pet for more than 45 years, a yellow-naped Amazon parrot named Skiffle, was loved dearly and deeply by him and is a cherished family member.
Marty was a proud veteran, a dedicated father, a loyal husband, and a committed employee. He enjoyed all things automotive, naval aircraft, photography, world history, and above all, his family.
His family and friends will always remember him as a gentle, caring, and selflessly loving person.
The family is arranging a celebration of Marty’s life for a date in the near future. During this time of loss and grief, the family would like to express the sincerest appreciation for the many prayers, visits, words of encouragement, and food. May kindness return to you in the same beautiful way it was given.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marty’s honor to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org) and the Lymphoma Research Foundation (www.lymphoma.org).
