Michael Edward Jean

Michael Edward Jean was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on April 10, 1947. Alton Bill Jean and Jean Simms Jean were the parents to a much loved only child. Mike grew up in a then small town as part of the baby boomer generation that was swelling during the sixties. Mike caught some football passes from Terry Bradshaw, attempted but did not quite make it to Woodstock way off in New York state. He moved around a bit, landed in Georgia, sought to develop a career interest in photography, and studied at the University of Georgia in Athens. He, like other young seekers, was found by the Lord Jesus during this tumultuous time and he began to experience a new joy and purpose.

He was married to a West virginia girl names Linda Jessup Jean and they lived together in Atlanta for several years among a group of christians in the church of Atlanta. Mike's career interest turned to technical metters and he became skilled in HVAC systems. He worked many years in this field including with Turner Broadcasting until his retirement around 2014.

A cancer gripped him early in May of this year, weakened him further since that time and he was mercifully released from that trail.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother Jean in 2010 and his father Bill in 2013.

Many of us have come to appreciate Mike's ready smile and his musical interest to sing with enjoyment. So thankful for the life and expression that God gained in Mike.
