Nancy was born December 24,1935 at home in Van Wert, Ohio to Marguerite and Gerald (Lefty) Davis. At the age of 12 she lost her mom and her maternal grandfather, Fred Oechsle, stepped in to help raise her. Nancy met her future husband, David L. Hersh, while attending a church retreat at Lake Wawasee in Indiana. They were married May 1, 1954 and moved to Georgia shortly thereafter. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage until Dave’s passing in 2015.
Nancy was a long-time member of Emory Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, playing the piano and organ and served as an elder. In the 1970s she was the church secretary. She retired from Phoenix Technology where she had been their office manager. After retiring Nancy and Dave enjoyed traveling. They especially enjoyed going on cruises and went on several mission trips to Belize.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, David L Hersh. She is survived by her daughter Vicki L. Ivey (Jim) and grandson J. Michael Ivey (Candace).
Thank you to the staff and caregivers at Pebblebrook at Park Springs where she spent her last few years.
