Patricia "Penny" Ann Cochran

Patricia “Penny” Stump Cochran, age 54, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 9, 2026, in Winston, Georgia, family by her side. Born on April 24, 1972, in Kingsport, Tennessee, Penny lived a life marked by unwavering faith, selfless love, and devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of Tommy Cochran, her adventure and life partner for more than 32 years. A chance meeting was love at first sight; after meeting at a local hangout Penny told her two friends “He’s the man I’m going to marry.” What followed was a beautiful wedding at Simpsonwood Chapel, four children and over 32 wonderful years of marriage, kept new each day by countless adventures.

Penny's greatest earthly joy was time with her family. Homeschooling her four children meant more time for travel and adventures as a family. She found joy in God's creation and embraced every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Penny loved hiking, often scaring Tommy as she got closer to the cliffsides and waterfalls they found across the country. The thought of going a year without a camping trip to Black Rock Mountain would be unheard of and if she was not trekking through the mountains, she was spending quiet moments on the beaches of Florida with family

and friends. Her children recall decades of RummiKub and bike races; no one remembers beating her and her competitive spirit would not allow her to let them win without earning it. Penny's

appreciation for life's simple blessings inspired those around her. She had a remarkable ability to make every place feel like home and every gathering feel special simply through her presence.

Above all else, Penny loved God. Her faith was the foundation of her life and the source of her strength, compassion, and grace. A devoted member of Church of the Apostles in Atlanta,

Georgia, she faithfully pursued Christ and sought to reflect His love in every aspect of her life. While her family grieves the loss of her physical presence, they rejoice in the assurance that she is

now at peace with her Savior. Penny's legacy of faith, love, sacrifice, and devotion to her family will be remembered and treasured by all who were blessed to know her. Her life was a beautiful

testimony to a woman who loved God above all things and, because of that love, poured herself wholeheartedly into her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy; her children, Megan Carter and her husband Jackson, Elijah Cochran, Ivy Cochran, and Noel Cochran; and her treasured grandchildren, Emerson, Ezra,

and Kehlani. She is also survived by her brothers, Todd Stump, Mikey Stump, and Kenny Stump, with whom she shared a lifetime of family memories and enduring love. Finally, Penny is also

lovingly remembered and survived by her mother, Georgeann Brasington, her father, Ferd Stump and her mother-in-law, Faye Cochran, all of whom were blessed by Penny's love, kindness, and

steadfast spirit throughout her life. Her love, guidance, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in each of them.
