He was born in Lawrence, MA he son of the late Lucien Noel and Melvina Lavoie Galarneau.
He was a regional Vice President for Waste Management. And a WWII Army veteran.
Mr. Galarneau was a member of St. Clements Catholic Church.
A former lefty pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers, he started and coached in the sports program at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, MD.
Survivors include his wife, Emelda D. Galarneau of Calhoun; his daughters, Beverly Gordon of Midway, GA, and Ann Vinson of Demorest, GA; his sisters, Jeanne Gowen of Bunnell, FL, Rita Drass of Meridianville, AL, Cecile Fecteau of Silver Springs, MD, Helen Sirois of Homasassa, FL, and Annette Valliere of Methuen, MA; his brother, Claude Galarneau of Columbia, SC; his 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tues. March 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Floral Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tues from noon until service time.
