Robert L. Heller was born in Shippensburg, PA but he and his family moved to Miami Florida when he was young. He graduated from Miami Edison High School where he met and married Shirley Brasseur.
He was a gifted musician and served as drum major in the band. In later years, he shared his love of music with his 3 daughters and they all sang at First Christian Church in Tucker, GA where he served as deacon for many years.
In the community, he was a member of the Lion’s Club. He also coached his daughter’s softball teams. He had a gift for sales and during his lifetime sold everything from garage doors to building fasteners to insurance.
Love for his family was closely followed by his love for animals, especially dogs. He and Shirley raised Weimaraners and when his beloved male, Eric, passed away he grieved for years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years and by his daughter Laura Jackson Denham. He is survived by his daughters Barbara (Ron) Shiffler of Matthews, NC and Katherine (David) Lee of Tucker, GA. He is also survived by grandchildren Samantha Bhavnani, Joshua Lee, Sean Jackson, Shane Jackson, Jeremy Denham and several great grand-children.
