

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Rodney Alan Kimsey, who left us peacefully at his home on October 31, 2024, leaving a void that can never be filled. He was 65 years young.
Born on June 25, 1959, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Rod was a loving and dependable husband, father, papa, son, brother and friend. Rod encountered more than his share of heartache and loss, yet he carried on with unwavering faith, determination and a spirit that couldn’t be dimmed.
Rod is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Annabella Kimsey and daughter Melissa Kimsey; he is survived by the love of his life, Vanessa Kimsey, children Rodney (Melissa), Tabetha (Kyle), Ross (Danielle) and Tara Kimsey , seven grandchildren Haley Kimsey, Lexie Zagwyn ,Skyler Kimsey, Kristen Kimsey, Ryleigh Short, Grayson Short, Autumn (Gracie) Kimsey. Brothers, Robert Kimsey (Linda), Rick Kimsey (Susan) and sister Rebecca Mele (Joe).
Rod was known for his ability to bring light into the lives of those around him. His laughter was a balm for the wounded hearts, and his kindness was a beacon of hope for those who needed it most. Rod navigated the ups and downs of life with Grace, and he found solace in time spent with friends and family, especially his faithful wife of almost 44 years, Vanessa.
Rod was an incredibly well respected and talented HVAC specialist, car enthusiast, skilled and or knowledgeable in most trades and multipotentialite. We all share in the profound grief of losing a remarkable soul that touched each of our lives in a profound ways.
A gathering to celebrate Rod’s life will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024 , 12-2 (Viewing) , 2-3 (Service) at Floral Hills funeral Home, located at 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA. 30084.
