Roland Howard Roberts Jr.

Born in Atlanta, GA at Piedmont Hospital on 9/20/1949 to Roland Howard Roberts, Sr. and Anita Small Roberts.

Roland grew up on Fayetteville Rd. in East Atlanta, GA. He attended East Atlanta High School, graduating in 1967. He spent a few years at GA State University majoring in pre-med and gambling. /He spent some time in Tallahassee, FL, where he began his love of construction, before joining the GA National Guard in March of 1969. He served 6 years as an MP and was Honorably Discharged in February of 11975. He spent most of his adult life working in the field of construction in one capacity or another.

Roland married the love of his life, Janice Stapp Roberts on January 11, 1971. After many moves they finally settled back here in Tucker, GA in 1980. They were married just shy of 55 years. Throughout his life he was blessed to be surrounded by an army of really good friends.

Grandchildren – Heidi Grimmett (Blake), Jessica Gulzinski (James), Alianna Phillips (Chase), Garrett Rowell, Jeffrey Saturday, Brooke Rowell, Savannah Saturday, Joshua Saturday, Howie Roberts, Jeffrey Roberts, Bella Burnham

Great-Grandchildren – Harper Grace Grimmett, Briggs Grimmett, Mason Gulzinski, Jonah Grimmett, Caden Gulzinski

Brother – Jack Lloyd Roberts, Sr.

Brother-in-Law – Roger Dennis Stapp

Nephews – Jack Roberts, Jesse Roberts, Chad Stapp

Nieces – Renee Kendricks, Christa Stapp

And last but not least, Smokey, his 9-year-old black lab who has been his faithful and constant companion.

In lieu of flowers the family has set up a “Meal Train” under “Roberts Family” where you can send meals or make donations.
