Sang was born in 1953 in Seoul, South Korea. He was the youngest of five sons and one daughter. After college, he worked as a salesman in Korea for several years. Then, he immigrated to the United States in 1981. Soon thereafter, he started a family and a fashion business in LaGrange, Georgia. Around 1990, he and his family relocated to metro Atlanta, where he continued his fashion business until he retired in 2015 at the age of 62.
Sang was a very warm and considerate person. He always thought of others first and often emphasized the importance of "putting oneself in another's shoes." He would always say that if you consider the other person's perspective, there is nothing you cannot understand. Sang loved to play golf, watch sports, and spend time with his friends and family.
In retirement, Sang exercised regularly and took good care of his health. He lived a peaceful life until he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia on July 31, 2024. He was admitted to a sterile hospital room and received chemotherapy and anticancer treatments. Unfortunately, his condition worsened after 17 days of hospitalization, leading to his admission into the ICU. His organs began to fail, placing immense strain on his body. After several days in the ICU, he passed away peacefully.
