Sue S. Puckett

Mrs. Sue S. Puckett, age 95, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Holbrook Assisted Living. Sue was born in Meriwether County, Georgia, on July 13, 1927, the daughter of the late John W. Smoot and Maude O. Morris Smoot. Sue received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Piedmont College in 1947. While teaching school in southern Georgia, she also attended Georgia Peabody College for Teachers, graduating in 1952 with a Master's Degree. She continued teaching school until 1955.

Sue married her college sweetheart, Bona, in 1949, and they remained happily together for the next 70 years. Sue spent her entire life dedicated to her husband and three children - cooking, gardening, chauffeuring, and tutoring. She always made sure her family had everything they needed.

Sue resided in Tucker, Georgia for 55 years. She was an active member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed growing and maintaining beautiful flower gardens, baking, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables, reading, doing needle point, and completing crossword puzzles.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a sweet, gentle, caring soul.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bona Puckett; her son, Phillip Puckett; and her seven brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law Bonnelle (Stephen) Kuder of Marietta, Georgia, and Wanda (Olaf) Isele of West Chester, Ohio; her grandchildren Erik Isele of Stanford, California, and Karl Isele of Columbus, Ohio; and her younger sister, Evelyn Findley, of Woodbury, Georgia.

A visitation for Sue will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Reception will follow at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 4882 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084.
