"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."
Timothy Driscoll, also known by those closest to him as Tim, Timmy, Uncle Timmy and Boston Tim.
Timothy Driscoll, age 60, a proud craftsman, storyteller, and beloved friend, passed away on June 24, 2025 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Born and raised in Massachusetts, he spent the majority of his life in Fitchburg, before settling in the greater Atlanta area in his later years.
Tim leaves behind his four siblings, Barry (Mary) Driscoll of Jericho VT, Mike (Barbara) Driscoll of Fitchburg MA, Kathy LaBelle (Steve Remillard) of Goffstown NH, and Susan Driscoll of Gardner MA. Along with nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Tim was a 1982 graduate of Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School, where he studied carpentry, laying the foundation for a lifetime of skilled work and hands-on creativity. Later, his passion for building and technology led him to pursue Broadcasting and Electronic Media at Mount Wachusett Community College, where he honed the skills that would launch his long and distinguished career in the film industry.
As a key grip in the film industry, he worked on countless productions across New England, and later, in the greater Atlanta area. He was known among his colleagues for his precision, dedication, and unshakable work ethic — a behind-the-scenes professional who helped bring stories to life.
Tim was proud of his dual citizenship in both the United States and Ireland, a point of great pride that spoke to both his heritage and his adventurous spirit. He often spoke about his time spent in Ireland and about his future retirement plans to have permanent roots in Ireland, opening a pub and enjoying a pint of Guinness while chatting with friends.
A lifelong Boston sports fan, he bled Red Sox red and never missed a chance to cheer on his teams, even from hundreds of miles away.
Tim leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, creativity, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of his life will be held privately by the family.
