

Virginia Carole Lorick, age 88, of Johns Creek, Georgia, passed away October 7, 2021. Carole was born October 8, 1932, in Covington, Tennessee to Edward and Vera Bishop Clifton. Carole graduated from Bolivar High School in Bolivar, Tennessee, and attended then-Memphis State University, where she met Bruce Lorick, her husband-to-be. The couple raised three children: Robert Bruce (Rob) Lorick, William Clifton (Cliff) Lorick, and Virgina Lee (Ginny) Altmiller. Carole spent the first 38 years of her life in Tennessee before the family moved to Tucker, Georgia, in 1971. While in Georgia, Carole worked for 20 years with the Dekalb County government, primarily at the Maude Burris library in Decatur and then for the Planning and Zoning Commission. Following Bruce's passing in 1994, Carole moved to Sebastian, Florida, to be near her sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Horry Johns. Carole returned to Georgia in 2007 to be near her son and his family. In addition to her husband Bruce, Carole was predeceased by her eldest son Rob. She is survived by son Cliff and Marilyn Lorick, daughter Ginny and Steve Altmiller, daughter-in-law, Joy Ing Lorick as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Interment services will be graveside at Floral Hills Memory Gardens Saturday, October 23, at 11:30 a.m., Carole’s grandson, Jeffrey Lorick, will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to a reception at Marlowe's Tavern, 4156 LaVista Road, Tucker, GA following the memorial service.
