On Saturday December 5, 2015, Wayne E. Morris, age 67 of Atlanta, GA, passed away. Loving father of Shawn Edward Morris and Gary Lee Morris. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, loving family and friends.
Wayne had a career as a route Salesman selling everything from Salads to Bread. He also worked for more than a decade as a file clerk and a Lab Tech at Emory. As his parents aged he served as their faithful full time caretakers.
He enjoyed vacations in the mountains on the border of Ga, Carolina and TN .The Family fondly remembers many trips to Franklin , N.C and meals at the Dillard house( Wayne's favorite restaurant)
Although he was known for his ornery personality, strong opinions and stubborn nature ,underneath this tougher exterior was a kind hearted man who enjoyed simple pleasures .
He was an animal lover, throughout his retirement years he took in many stray cats and cared deeply for them.
Wayne was a regimented man and maintained a routine frequenting the same restaurants and institutions, he used the same Barber and Shoe repairman throughout his entire life.
His hobbies included watching football...Up until the end of his life. Wayne enjoyed Friday Night Tucker High School football and attended games regularly.
Wayne was a collector of sorts; he was not at all materialistic but kept his families belongings for generations. In his home are many antiques and personal relics from his parents Farm in Tucker and his grandparent’s households. We have discovered many treasures including appliances from the 1950's and photos dating back to the 1800's.
He was a private man but curious about others and would often call his sons “out of the blue “just to ask questions and discuss daily life. He will be missed by his friends and family.
