

He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Virginia Johnson Ragsdale. Bill is survived by his son, Charles Anthony Ragsdale “Chuck” and Chris Hunnicutt of Suwanee, GA, his daughter and son in-law, Tammy R. Davis and John W. Davis of Buford, GA, his daughter and son in-law Tessa R. Clark and Phillip A. Clark of Hoschton, Georgia , as well as, his five loving grandchildren who were the joys of his heart, Steele Davis, Cole Ragsdale, Britta Clark, Chace Ragsdale and Logan Watson.
Bill had a lifetime love for the Lord and devotion to his Christian faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Tucker. He was born in Lithonia, Georgia on May 15, 1931 to the late Ernest Theodore “Tump” Ragsdale and Ora Mel Turner Ragsdale of Lithonia, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Annie Laura Ragsdale, Mary Evelyn Starr Reagan and Vivian Rachel George his brother, Bobby A Ragsdale of Conyers, GA. Bill grew up in Dekalb County, Georgia attending Lithonia Elementary and graduating from Lithonia High School “Class of 1948”. Bill moved to Charlotte NC in 1957 and after many promotions, he returned to Tucker Georgia in 1973 and worked with Western Electric and BellSouth Telecommunications until his retirement in 1990.
Bill worked a second job at H&R Block for 40 years. After retiring with BellSouth, he worked tirelessly until 89 years old as Ragsdale Consulting Services preparing taxes and helping his clients to prepare for retirement. Bill and Ginny were very active in their church at First Baptist Church of Tucker singing in the choir, hosting the Never Too Old ministry on the second Tuesday of each month and traveling with Adventures with Phill and his lovely bride Lisa. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He loved to vacation with his family in Destin, Florida and having all his Johnson family over for Thanksgiving lunch every year. Ginny was the oldest of 12 from Lawrenceville, Georgia and Bill the youngest of 4 from Lithonia, Georgia and he kept close ties with all of his extended family.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 am and Celebration of Life service at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Tucker; officiated by Rev. Pam Woodson- 5073 LaVista Rd Tucker GA. 30084.(770-938-1688) Interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3000 Lawrenceville, Georgia 30084; officiated by Rev David Whitworth.
