We will love & miss him like crazy. I do miss the days when he was in Abilene ks & will miss hugging him like I never saw him even though I have known him for a ling time, we love & miss him so much & he loves to joke around. He was caring, heart warming, down to earth, & loving. You will be in our hearts forever uncle billy.

We will miss Bill's smiling face. He was always in plain sight, so if we needed something he was our guy.  We will miss him and will continue to pray for your family.

The outpouring of love I have seen and felt by so many friends, church members and wonderful family members of the Shileds family in the last 2 weeks will leave an impression on me forever just as Bill Shields did. It has been so comforting to hear the stories and accounts of people sharing their testimony of their own experiences and fondness for Bill. I can literally 'feel' the love  from everyone. Bill had a  phenomenal effect on all the people who got to know him. All were all touched by his unwavering faith, his positive outlook &  optimism, his soft spoken manner and just his pure generosity.  I personally was in awe of his love of the word of God and feel as though he was a modern day disciple.  I feel truly blessed to have been his close friend for so many years. Wanda will always be my best friend. But Wanda & Bill are more then just friends to me AND to and my children. They are Family. We loved Bill VERY MUCH and are better for knowing him. He will be truly missed. I am sure Bill is in Heaven and probably fishin with Jesus....

My dearest Wanda and Family, my heart is broken for Your loss,  for everyone's loss as Billy was a one of a kind man,..he put everyone before himself and he loved the Lord and his family, he never knew a stranger and he would give the shirt off his back and his last dollar if he knew it would comfort and help someone.  He was a true man of God, an angel on earth whose time was too short.  I thank God for placing Bill and Wanda in my path in this walk of life.   I love you Wanda and your family and my thoughts and prayers are with you all now and always, prayers for comfort and understanding during this difficult time.  RIP William F. I havn't seen Bill for quite a while but I have many fond memories that will keep him alive in my heart, Always.

Wanda and Family: My heart is broken over your loss. Bill was a man with a kind and loving heart intent on God's purposes. He spent countless hours and days working, organizing, and counting our Operation Christmas Child supplies. Sometimes, by the time we all got there on a Wednesday evening for a worknight, Bill would have been there working all day, making sure that everything was ready for a productive work session. Bill was always ready to assist any of us with anything he could and with a cheerful heart and that great big smile. Bill set his mind, heart and hands toward the tasks of eternal value. What a legacy he has left for us, what an example he has set for us, what an inspiration to us. I am grateful to have known and worked with Bill and like so many of his friends and family, I look forward to seeing him again one day. I envision Bill already working, helping, volunteering, and assisting with anything possible up there in heaven to prepare for the rest of us to make our trip. I know he is busy right now.
