Abel Loera Trujillo

Abel Loera Trujillo was born in Fierro New Mexico November 25th, 1931 to Francisco Trujillo and Micaela Loera. He passed away January 4th, 2023 at the age of 92. He is predeceased by his brothers Manuel, Ernesto, Ismael, Joseph, Frank, two sisters Irene Polanco and Ruth Smith and his son Abel Jr. Abel married Maria Jesus Rodriguez in 1972. They celebrated 45 years of marriage until her death in 2017. He is survived by a son Robert, daughter Paula and several nieces and nephews.

Abel was certified as a Phlebotomy Technician. He worked at Knollwood Pharmacy in Granada Hills, California from June 1994 to August 2002.

Abel enjoyed working on his aquaponics. He also enjoyed going on rides and picnics through the Catalina Mountains, Saguaro National Monument and riding the shuttle at Sabino Canyon. As we would drive he would tell stories about his life. His favorite story was about working in the family mine with his father and brothers. Abel played the guitar for friends and parties. They would go to his house calling him by his nickname Piskie to come with them and play his guitar. One of his favorite songs to sing was Sola Mente Una Vez.

I would like to thank Eli and his family for visiting Abel and taking him out to eat. I would also like to thank the Polanco family for helping him on his Aquaponics.

A special thanks to Abuelos at Edgewood for taking care of Abel and making him feel at home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday,10:00 AM, February 9, 2024 at Southlawn Cemetery in the Nature Garden under the Ramada.
